![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It also looks like the original solid sterling silver double socket neck with matching serial number has a little bit of the original Factory lacquer sprayed over the silver. Other than the bow having a dent in the past, I don't see any signs of major past repairs or resolder areas. I don't know if this was an original King Factory relacquer job, or touch-up, or a very well- done relacquer. My best guess (because man, does thing thing ever look and play amazing for a 1938 sax) is that at some point long ago somebody sprayed some fresh lacquer over the body tube and key cups, and the bow after straightening out a dent to protect the horn, but thankfully it looks like the engraving on the bell was not buffed at all and they just sprayed lacquer over the original engraving. This saxophone also includes the original King Zephyr Special mouthpiece! Intonation is very good with a large chamber hard rubber mouthpiece. This is a HUGE sounding 1938 King Zephyr Special tenor sax with full pearls, triple strap rings, solid sterling silver double socket neck with matching serial number, 5 engraved key cups, and one of the fastest key actions I've felt. ![]()
