![]() ![]() I wanted to make something that sounded fat, and had to do it over the sound of the wind tunnel of like 8000 fans that are inside a late 90's server. ![]() The idea was to dig up and potentially sell this computer but when I turned it on to check if it worked and seen FL on the desktop (after I added a sound card, I guess) I had to have a go! This track maxed out the cpu at one point (I don't think F元 was written to make use of 2 cpus, in 2002), probably didn't even put a dent in the ram usage, who knows. It didn't even have USB, so I added a card to be able to use a flash drive to transfer files to. It's fairly upgraded with dual Pentium 2, 450 MHz cpus, half a gig of ram, and Windows 2000. The computer used is a Compaq Proliant 800 Server from 1998 it's as loud as a vacuum cleaner, weighing in at over 50 pounds and with sheet metal that rivals the thickness of steel on pre 1960s cars. I also kept it simple for that reason and added a couple loops that came with to compliment the beat. The computer is thankfully incredibly stable for its age (old server) and allowed me to make the song in a one-shot session and export, (no saves) which means I can't go back and mix anything. Really, it's not all that off the wall for my first release made this year!įruity Loops 3.56 had apparently demo trials which deleted half my work once saved. Made using only instruments that came with Fruity Loops version 3.56 on a 15 year old computer. ![]()
